MOTORISTS are being asked to avoid the Guilsfield area this morning due to a "serious" road accident.
According to reports the accident involved three vehicles and occurred at around 8.10am, with the A490 blocked in both directions near the petrol station and affecting traffic between Llansantffraid-ym-Mechain and Welshpool.
Police say there are delays and are advising motorists to find an alternative route.
“There are currently delays on the A490 near Guilsfield due to an incident,” the force tweeted at around 9am.
“If possible, please avoid the area or find an alternative route. Thank you.”
