Friday, September 19
* ROYAL PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY, 151st international print exhibition touring show on until September 20 at ABERYSTWYTH Arts Centre.
* ARTISTIC BLACKSMITHING, exhibition by William O'Brien at Glansevern Hall Gardens, BERRIEW, until September 27 on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturday afternoons and at other times by appointment on 01686 640644.
* HAPPY DAYS, exhibition of contemporary art and craft inspired by school holidays and childhood, on show at The Gallery, BISHOPS CASTLE, until September 29.
* SARA PHILPOTT, exhibition of recent paintings and prints inspired by the natural environment and its interaction with the human spirit, at the Old Schoolroom, BLEDDFA near Knighton.
* MADE IN WALES, featuring comedian Owen Money and singer Paul Child with the Welsh Television Orchestra and special guests The Dragon Choir, at Theatr Brycheiniog, BRECON.
* NOFIT STATE CIRCUS, back in Wales after a sell-out European tour to present their new show Tabu set on the edge of the wilderness, with final performances in their giant silver spaceship big top at the Watton Playing Field, BRECON today and Saturday September 20.
* TRIBAN, live music at the new Workhouse indoor venue, LLANFYLLIN.
* ARTS CONNECTION, busy evening at Theatr Llwyn, LLANFYLLIN, with premiere of Spirit of the Hollow Tree made by Llanfyllin Young Film Makers at 6pm followed by the launch of the Ffilmic Take 2 Film Challenge. If you want to get involved and see if you can make a film in 10 days then go along and get started on the challenge. Valleys Film Society screen Son of Rambow afterwards. * WATERCOLOUR SOCIETY OF WALES, autumn exhibition including two paintings by the Prince of Wales at the Museum of Modern Art, Wales, MACHYNLLETH to October 25.
Also exhibition by Brenda Chamberlain, the Welsh artist and writer who died in 1971 with work from all periods of her life.
* JUDITH MOY, exhibition of paintings plus etchings by Piers Brown on at the CountryWorks Gallery, MONTGOMERY, until September 24.
* LION HOUSE SHOP GALLERY, exhibition by filmmaker, sculptor and photographer Blue MacAskill and ceramicist and sculptor Alex Allpress as new owners of the NEWBRIDGE ON WYE gallery with current show for Herefordshire Art Week to September 21 also comprising work by Duncan MacAskill, Sarah Glenny and Danielle Drainey. MacAskill and Allpress are part of the Radnor Forest Circle, a band of artists incorporating 12 artists or artist groups, including Tori Sutherland of Bryncurl Workshops, Graeme Hobbs and Jasmine Grassie of Colva Studios, and Will and Lottie O'Leary of Knucklas.
* ME v U, exhibition on to October 4 at the Oriel Davies Gallery, NEWTOWN, curated by the Young Curators group who have selected artworks from the Wolverhampton Art Gallery that address the chosen theme of 'Conflict' including work by Andy Warhol.
The In Focus Gallery also has 'So Far It Has Only Been For You' by Melissa Hinkin.
* JOYCE JONES, recent pictures by local freelance photographer until the end of October at the Theatr Hafren bar gallery, NEWTOWN.
* VELVET DUKES, local band who launched their debut CD this year, play live at the Bull Inn, SHREWSBURY.
* SMALL'S FACES, live music at the Horseshoe Inn, RATLINGHOPE.
* COUNTRY LEGENDS: Solid Gold Tour 2, celebration of the best of country music at SHREWSBURY Music Hall.

* FFONIC. Montgomeryshire's world music community band at Plaid Cymru Social Buffet in the Raven Inn, WELSHPOOL.

* MICHAELMAS FAIR, weekend festival at BISHOPS CASTLE with entertainments including the Nachda Sansaar Punjabi folk dancers; Kaleidoscope mime theatre, FaCeD DaNcE street dancers, Humdingers folk singers, Merry Noise medieval musicians, Mana Matrix punk rockers, Neotopia modern rock, and much more
* COR GODRE'R ARAN, in concert at CARNO Community Centre in aid of Leukaemia Research.
* HEREFORD POLICE CHOIR, in charity concert supported by Trallong Ladies Choir, at Theatr Brycheiniog, BRECON.

Sunday, September 21
* TEA DANCES, fortnightly gatherings at the LLANDRINDOD WELLS Dance Centre 2 till 4pm.
* MID WALES WOODTURNERS, meeting at LLANIDLOES Primary School. The club meets 10 times a year on Sundays where professional demonstrators often show various types of turning. Contact secretary Neil Webster on 01650 521289 for more information.

Monday, September 22

* EARLY MUSIC AT DISCOED, opening of annual weekend with The French Ambassadors readings and music from the courts of Henry VIII and Francis I to animate Holbein's masterpieces, at St Andrew's Church, PRESTEIGNE.
Continues with two day vocal and instrumental workshop on the Vesperae Longiores of Heinrich Biber at Upper House and St Michael's Church, DISCOED on Saturday and Sunday; and a performance of Bach's Three Sonatas for Viola da Gamba at Upper House on Sunday evening.
