BEN Squibb dominated Newtown Rugby Club’s end of season presentation evening.

A full clubhouse was present as Squibb received the player of the year and players’ player of the season accolades from club president Murray Owen.

Callum Wall won the Captain’s Cup with Owen Randall the youth player of the year and Ryan Parry the youth captain’s cup winner.

Meanwhile Gareth Gerrard was named Clubperson of the Year while Griff and Helen Benyon-Thomas shared the Danny Griffiths Supporter of the Year accolade.

Captain Glenn Lloyd will hand over the armband next season having lifted the North Wales Intermediate Plate this month

Club spokesman James Holloway said: “The club would like to acknowledge the many volunteers, coaches and players who have worked tirelessly to make the season such a success and also thank our sponsors for their support throughout the season.”

The club has exceeded its own expectation this season with the senior team winning major silverware while its youth side also reached a regional final.
