WELSHPOOL slipped to a disappointing 11-5 defeat at bottom of the table Abergele in division two of the North Wales League.
A solitary try from Tom Davies was not enough as Pool slipped to defeat which saw their hosts climb off the foot of the table for the first time this season.
Gareth Evans kicked three first-half penalties before Davies crossed the whitewash for Pool.
However Abergele were not to be denied with Richard Medlicott crossing for the decisive try.
Meanwhile Llanidloes were left kicking their heels after Llangollen failed to raise a side for their scheduled trip to Cae Hafren.
