NEWTOWN hit back to conquer Mold in the Welsh Rugby Union Youth Bowl.

Despite trailing to an early penalty the hosts hit back to lead at the Recreation Ground with Owen Randell scamper onto a Kyle Rowlands deft kick to cross and convert.

Randell continued to play a key role and soon laid on centre Joe Hughes to go over in the corner.

Newtown started the second-half in a more positive manner and soon increased their lead with wing Jacob Davies, chasing a box kick to sprint over half the length of the field to touch down under the posts.

Mold surged forward and put Town under pressure until Randell relieved his lines with a defensive clearance which Davies gave chase.

From the resulting scrum the home backs executed a training ground move to allow full-back Rhys Morris to cross for a try.

Prop Reece Elliot completed the scoring with a surging run through the Mold ranks to cross
