NEWTOWN ground out a 15-0 win at home Rhyl in division two of the North Wales League.

Town broke the deadlock when Jac Benyon-Thomas crossed the whitewash.

Rhyl’s indiscipline saw them reduced to 13 men after the break with Town capitalising with a try from Benyon-Thomas before Twm Jones completed the scoring.

Meanwhile COBRA ran out emphatic 54-13 winners at Abergele.

Jack Jukes starred with a hat-trick of tries while Hywel Jones, Iolo White, Will Worthington, Ieuan Williams and Aled Humphreys also crossed.

Worthington added six conversions with Humphreys kicking one as COBRA completed a bonus point victory.

Elsewhere Welshpool crashed to a 44-19 defeat at promotion chasing Shotton Steel.

Dan Lynskey led the way with a hat-trick of tries while Nathan Bennett, Steve Garett, Brendan Dowle and Darren Rees also crossed the whitewash with the latter also kicking four conversions.

Pool hit back with tries from Ryan Goodwin and Rhys Williams.
