BUILTH Wells’ cup odyssey continued after a 7-5 win over Pontypridd secured a place in the semi-finals of the Blues Youth Cup last week.
The quarter-final was contested in heavy conditions and it was the visiting Pontypridd side who broke the deadlock with an unconverted try early in the second-half.
Builth hit back with 10 minutes remaining with captain Lewys Williams completing a 15 man passing move to crash over the whitewash.
Steffan Towns converted as the Bulls edged ahead for the first time in the game.
Pontypridd could have snatched glory at the death only to spurn a last gasp penalty as Builth cleared into touch to spark a night of celebration for the club.
Proud coach Richard Lawrence said: “Full credit to the players who battled well on a heavy pitch and deserve their place in the semi-final. It was a great day for Builth Wells Rugby Club.”
