TAHNEE Seagrave celebrated victory in the second round of the Mercedes Benz UCI Down hill World Cup in Fort William.

The Llanfyllin star established a 10 second lead and completed a stunning ride with a one handed jump to the delight of the Scottish crowd.

Machynlleth’s Rachel Atherton looked to repeat her fastest qualifying time but was dealt a major blow when her chain snapped early in her run.

Despite crashing the world champion recovered and made inroads into the rankings with several big jumps to cross the line in third place behind Myriam Nicole in a time of 5:20:016.

Seagrave was crowned champion with a time of 5:10:960 enough to give her a first ever victory at Fort William and another milestone in her already remarkable career.

The duo were back in action last weekend with the third round in Austria.

Atherton made a triumphant return to the top of the podium to celebrate her 35th world cup win with Nicole once again ending second.

However Seagrave failed to build on her success in Scotland after being disqualified for going off course during her run on the Leogang course.
