CARL Clarke was crowned singles champion at the 36th annual Newtown Pool League Finals Day held at Latham Park.

The Herbert A star beat Bob Pritchard of the Full Montys in the final to take the silverware.

The Buck enjoyed a superb day with Laura Jones beating Sporty Newbees newcomer Rosie Morgan-Penny to win the ladies title.

Meanwhile Drew Hughes, Lee Harris and Luke Mumford combined to see off the Monty Tyres trio of Barry Bellis, Carl Williams and Matt Rawsthorne to win the threesomes crown with Hughes and Jones also winning the mixed pairs at the expense of Dave and Zara Powell of the Horse and Jockey.

The Bucks’s Alan Jones and Johnny Jarman also won the doubles with a 5-0 drubbing of the Herbert’s Andrew Jones and Josh Allen.

Meanwhile Cole Bedford won the Bob Pritchard Carpentry Youth League with Callum Bishop taking home the plate.

The Buck A won the premiership title with Monty Tyres taking the second division honours and the Red Lion winning the third division.

The Lion A won the league cup final at the expense of the Full Montys who were consoled with Gordon Price Cup glory while the Jockey A won the Consolation Cup.

Nomads, the Herbs and Queens Head B won the divisional league cups.

Meanwhile Drew Hughes of the Buck was named Premiership player of the year with Barry Bellis of Montys Tyres the second division winner and the Bell’s Neil Mitchell the third division’s top talent.
