CHAZ Davies arrives on home soil for the sixth round of the World Superbike Championships (WSBK) at Donington this week.

The Presteigne star arrives in Leicestershire with confidence high following his two podiums in the last round round at Imola in Italy.

Davies ended third in race two of the 2017 championship but the 31 year old is confident of improved results this weekend.

Davies sits in second place in the championship and will look to make inroads into the advantage of Kawasaki’s Jon Rea who has maintained his dominant form of last season and tops the rankings at the midway point of the season.

The track is famous for hosting the first ever WSBK race in 1988 and Davies will be seeking his first ever victory on the course.

The Aruba.it Racing Ducati star spoke of his love of the British track.

“Donington is a track I really enjoy and, being from the U.K, the atmosphere there is awesome and the home crowd support is always great,” said Davies.

“My first time out there was back in 1999 and I had some great results with two-strokes but not yet with Superbike unfortunately.

“However we’ve made improvements every year and it seems that we have been getting closer to our main rivals.

“The goal is to find the next step and hopefully we’ll have some results to cap off the weekend nicely.”
