MONTGOMERY Hockey Club brought the curtain down on the season with a charity match on Saturday.
The annual match between past and present members of the county town club has become an eagerly anticipated end of season event.
This year £328 was raised in aid of Breast Cancer with the match at Welshpool’s Flash Leisure Centre sponsored by councillor Lionel Weaver.
Club spokesperson Harriet Evans said: “It was a cracking day.
“We had a good turnout with lots of laughs and it was all for a great cause with a fantastic amount raised. Bring on next year.”
Meanwhile the club has invited any aspiring players to join their ranks ahead of next season’s Shropshire Women’s League by contacting club officials by social media.
