ADDISON Davies has been crowned county gymnastics champion.
The seven year old from Welshpool fought off strong competition to take the Shropshire Grade 6 title at Lilleshall National Training Centre earlier this month.
Rescheduled following a disappointing postponement during the last snowfall, the prestigious annual competition involved more than 100 competitors in a range of ages over two sessions.
Competing against participants from her own Shrewsbury Gymnastics Academy as well as gymnasts from the Park Wrekin and Airborne Gymnastic Clubs, Addison achieved a host of impressive results.
The youngster won both the vault and range and conditioning events while taking second place in the beam and asymmetric bars events and fourth place in the floor to be crowned all round county champion.
Davies trains for more than eight hours per week along with a demanding home conditioning schedule geared at improving core strength, flexibility and stamina.
The youngster has relished the the challenge as well as the friends made at Shrewsbury Gymnastics Academy.
