The OES Clywedog League season began last month as the top anglers in Wales descended on Llanidloes.

The league pits 14 teams of four anglers head to head over six rounds and during its four years of existence has attracted top anglers from across the UK, including past world and British champions.

A sinking line masterclass saw reigning champions Welsh Hawks take the first round top spot with 16 place points.

Llanilar AA ended second with 64 points and Diawl Bach’s completed the podium with 78 points.

The Welsh Hawks also took the top three individual places with Caersws’ Russ Owen taking the win with 16 fish while Machynlleth’s Aled and Gareth Dixon caught 15 and 14 respectively.

Caersws Dai Owen ended fourth with Swansea’s with Jeremy Wadley completing the top five.
