CWMYTHIG Hill near Rhayader hosted the second round of the ET James Welsh Enduro Championship on Sunday.

The annual Jack Frost Enduro was hosted by Rhayader Motor Club whose members had worked over time to ensure its staging following the recent snowfall.

As ever the event boasted a full entry list across the classes with the championship category won by Dan Mundell of Devon who won all five tests.

Tredegar’s Jay Thomas ended second with Llanidloes’ Charlie Evans seeing off Rhayader’s Alex Walton to claim third spot.

Rhayader’s Adam James won the two opening expert tests only for Fareham rider Aaron Gordon to claim victory after winning the final three with Bristol’s John Ridgeway completing the podium.

Llandrindod Wells rider Shaun Buchan claimed fifth place in the expert class.

The experts veteran class was won by Narbeth’s Anthony Griffith with Port Talbot riders Jamie Jenkins and Greg Hurley leading the challenge.

Wrexham’s Harry Houghton won the clubman class after seeing off the challenge of the up and coming Sam Davies of Llandrindod Wells with Charlie Chater claiming third.

Machynlleth’s Rob Hughes and Rhayader’s Martin Rowan both completed top 10 finishes.

Meanwhile Newbridge’s Carl Davies won the clubman veteran class by 16 seconds from Oswestry’s Michael Wood while Mathew Harries of Aberaeron won the sportsman class by over a minute.

Sixth placed Liam Ryland of Builth Wells led Powys interest in the clubman veteran class.
