WELSH national team manager Ryan Giggs was among the crowd for Sunday’s J D Welsh Cup Final in Newtown.
The 131st final was played in glorious sunshine with a crowd of 1,500 including former Manchester United star Giggs.
Giggs, who made a record 672 appearances for Manchester United, met with supporters of both teams and neutrals who had come along to watch the final between Aberystwyth Town and Connahs Quay Nomads.
Nomads lifted the cup for the first time in their history with two goals from ex-TNS striker Mike Wilde and an Andy Owens strike following Mike Bakare’s opener.
The Seasiders replied through Ryan Wade but were always chasing the game while cheered on throughout by a legion of supporters who had made the trip inland.
