THE Spar Mid Wales League season will not be extended.
Spar Mid Wales League secretary Phil Woosnam confirmed the league would not be seeking an extension beyond May 31.
However the secretary expected a busy schedule from now until the end of the campaign with many clubs facing mammoth fixture backlogs.
A longer winter and continued bad weather into March has devastated the Spar Mid Wales League programme this season.
Even Bank Holiday Monday’s fixture list was wiped out to leave Woosnam with a mounting backlog to complete by the end of the season.
However Woosnam remained confident the league would be completed on time as scheduled and looked forward to a busy few months.
“The league has sought no extension but we will be going until the end of May.”
