LIAM Jacques inspired Aberaeron to a 6-1 victory over Borth United in the only Spar Mid Wales League One clash to survive the weekend snow.

The match was switched to Aberystwyth Town’s Park Avenue ground as Storm Emma took a tight grip of the region.

Aberaeron wasted no time in adapting to the 3G surface with Jacques soon breaking the deadlock with a 20 yard strike.

Chris Wilkins squared for Dan James to double Aberaeron’s lead before Jaques completed his brace with a 25 yard thunderbolt.

Jacques completed his hat-trick with another long range strike early in the second-half before Mattie Davies joined the spree to maintain his fine form for the Ambers this season.

Borth reduced the arrears through Marcin Matjya who capitalised on a defensive lapse but Aberaeron had the final say with teenager Ianto Evans coming off the bench to slot home late on to complete a resounding margin of victory.
