CAERSWS overcame a potential banana skin to progress to the quarter-finals of the Central Wales Cup with a 3-1 win at home to Welshpool Town on Tuesday.

Rhydian Davies gave Caersws a fifth minute lead only for ex-Bluebird Ian Probert to level 10 minutes later for the Lilywhites.

Caersws sealed their progress with two goals at the start of the second-half with Luke Sherbon and new signing Richard Davies on target.

Meanwhile Guilsfield also sealed their progress with a solitary Chris Cathrall goal completing a 1-0 win at Llanidloes Town.
