MAESYRHANDIR Football Club have unveiled a new management team for next season.

The Newtown based side enjoyed a fine debut campaign in Honda Division One of the J T Hughes Montgomeryshire League while also reaching two cup semi-finals under the management of Gary Jones.

At the league annual meeting on Monday night it was confirmed current manager Gary Jones would be joined by player Jake Baker in jointly managing the club next season.

Meanwhile the club has also confirmed Joe Evans as player coach following his arrival from MMP Mid Wales League One side Llanidloes Town.

Jones was delighted with the new management and coaching structure as the club planned for next season with the long term aim of leading the club to the Mid Wales League.

“Joe will be responsible for all training which means Jake and I can concentrate on the daily running of the club,” said Jones who is expecting his first child with his partner in December.

Jones added: “Current, past and future players are all invited to pre-season with training starting on the Trehafren pitches at 6.15pm on Thursday, June 21.

“We are also searching for pre-season friendlies and with us being a little behind schedule we’s be interested in any opposition, home or away.”

The club will once again be playing home games at Newtown Football Club’s Latham Park.

Jones added: “The club is currently seeking new sponsors and hope to retain our previous sponsors as their support has been fantastic.”
