Four Crosses 3 Waterloo Rovers 2
JAKE Edwards struck a late winner as Four Crosses ended their wait for silverware at the expense of Waterloo Rovers on Monday evening
Crosses returned to the scene of their Llansantffraid Village Cup Final defeat determined to atone for their Friday night dejection after falling at the final hurdle to Guilsfield Reserves
Meanwhile Waterloo also arrived at Treflan determined to end their season with silverware after missing out in the final of the Tanners Town Cup.
Goals from Paul Bache and Dylan Ellis gave Crosses the lead only for a spirited Rovers fightback to culminate in replies from Jack Holley and a towering header from Tom Ellis.
With the final drifting toward extra-time the stage was set for ex-Meifod striker Edwards to fire a winner with just two minutes on the clock.
Crosses held firm to lift their first cup of the season having lost in the final of the Emrys Morgan Cup and Llansantffraid Village Cup while setting them up for their fourth final of the season in the MP Foulkes Montgomeryshire Cup against Llansantffraid in midweek.
Crosses manager Mike Barton said: “Full credit to the players for their performance which will give us confidence ahead of the county final against Llansantffraid.”
