LLANFAIR United Reserves ended their season with a 4-1 derby victory over Llanfyllin Town who now face relegation.

Doubles from Ashley Davies and Jack Lewis cancelled Sam Jones’ reply and ensure the Mapgies ended bottom of Honda Division One of the J T Hughes Montgomeryshire League.

Earlier in the week another Davies brace helped United to a 2-1 win at home to Caersws Reserves who replied through Rhys Edkin.

The Bluebirds hit back with a 2-1 win at home to Meifod on Saturday with goals from Connor Stacey and Reece Cunnigham sealing the points.

Meanwhile Llanrhaeadr Reserves maintained their strong end of season form in Mitsubishi Division Two.

On Thursday a Khyam Wytton four goal blast and a double from Huw France laid the foundations for a 7-4 win at Abermule Reserves.

James Watkins completed the Tanat Valley side’s tally while the hosts hit back through Aaron Leary, Drew Cook, Shaun Blayney and an own goal.

Watkins was also among the scorers as Llanrhaeadr prevailed 3-1 winners over Newtown Wanderers on Saturday.

Further goals from Endaf Owens and Mike Roberts cancelled a reply from Dave Ash.
