CAERSWS face seven cup finals in their bid to secure Huws Gray Alliance status.

High flying Holywell Town visit the Recreation Ground on Saturday before the villagers host Gresford Athletic with the games coming thick and fast.

The number of clubs relegated at the end of the season remains dependent on promotion and relegation issues to and from the Alliance.

With the league running one below compliment the villagers current position may well be sufficient for survival but a 12th place finish would seal their place.

Manager Graham Evans backed his side to end the season strongly after a battling 5-3 defeat at champions elect Caernarfon Town last week.

“I was pleased and proud of the character shown by the lads especially after going 4-0 down,” said Evans.

“We rolled our sleeves up and put in a performance I know we are capable of week in week out. The disappointing part was conceding goals in the manner that we did.

“Their manager commented after the game that no side had caused them problems like we did in the second-half and they were glad to hear the final whistle so we have plenty of positives to take in to the remaining seven fixtures.”

Holywell arrive at the Recreation Ground with lingering title hopes with Evans expecting a tough afternoon.

“They are the form side and the one team able to catch Caernarfon in the title race so they’ll be doing everything they can for the win,” said Evans.

“A change of shape on Saturday worked well for us and I am hoping for the same work rate and attitude from my lads on Saturday.

“We will then prepare for Gresford who are also a dangerous team on their day but it’s another must win game for us.”

Lance Jones is struggling after sustaining a knee injury in last week’s defeat while veteran Graham Jones also faces a late fitness test following a lengthy lay-off.

However the villagers have been boosted by the return of striker Richard Davies and midfielder Mike Collister after missing last week’s trip to the Oval.
