CAERSWS travel to Holyhead Hotspur on Saturday with time running out to safeguard their Huws Gray Alliance status.

At the time the County Times went to press on Wednesday night the Bluebirds were in action at fellow strugglers Queens Park.

Manager Graham Evans insisted the players “owed themselves and the club” three points on the island.

“It’s their final game of the season and will want a reaction after going out of the league cup to Flint last week,” said Evans.

Caersws slipped to a 2-0 defeat at home to Holywell Town last week with Evans calling on his side to cut out the individual mistakes which have undermined the Blues all season and entrenched them in a season long relegation battle.

“I was pleased with the effort and threat going forward,” said Evans. “We looked tight as a defensive unit but conceded two goals due to individual mistakes.”

Caersws welcome a crop of players back to contention for the trip with David Jones, Tom Bowen, Richard Davies and Graham Jones joined by Paul Watson in the squad.
