Bishops Castle 74 all out lost to Ludlow IIIs 131-9 by 57 runs
BISHOPS Castle’s testing start to the season continued in a 57 run defeat at Ludlow IIIs.
Paul Moulder (4-14) led the Castle attack with Simon Miles caught by Chris Irving for 26 and Stuart Jardine caught by Andrew Lewis for 24.
Richard Langford (1-26) toppled Dan Ashley for 26 with the veteran pairing of Steve Morris (2-17) and Edgar Whateley (2-22) restricting the hosts to 131-9 to defend.
Castle’s foundations were rocked by Tom Miller (3-17) in reply before Ashley (2-8) and Adam Bowen (2-14) removed the middler order.
Langford (12no) and Moulder (10) led tail end resistance but Oli Boulton (2-1) ensured their collapse for 74 in the 25th over.
