Guilsfield 117 all out lost to Oswestry IIIs 130 all out by 13 runs
GUILSFIELD’s bright start to the season was dealt a blow after falling short in a 13 run derby defeat at Owestry IIIs.
Dave Court (3-22) led the Guils attack and included the wicket of opener Iwan Roberts (22) while Sam Griffiths (4-19) dismissed top scorer Dominic Kular (36) and Gary West (2-42) removed Oliver Roberts (25) to restrict Oswestry to 130.
Adam Lloyd (3-21) ripped the heart out of the Guils top order in reply, bowling Duncan Todd for 20 while catching Griffiths off Stuart Owen (1-17) for 18.
Meanwhile Ben Wilson (6-19) proved the scourge of the Guils middle and tail end with only Dave Williams (22) and Alex Parry (14) offering resistance before their side’s dismissal for 117 was completed in the 30th over.
