Ezra Tattersall starred with a maiden ton as Builth Wells IIs eased to a 190 run victory over Moccas in division three of the GB Liners Marches League.

Ian Morgan (49) joined Tattersall before Martin Hurst (57) posted a second consecutive half century.

Tattersall fell on his sword for a magnificent 105 in the chase for late runs before Steff Towns (13no) saw the Builth to 234-4.

Builth were keen to make early inroads and left Moccas reeling at 17-6 as Hurst (5-18)completed a good all round day.

Ben Cripps (3-16) and Arthur Davies (2-20) and an eight catch display in the field completed Moccas’ skittling for 53 with Ryan James (20no) top scoring.

Captain Stuart Cripps said: “Ezra batted with great maturity and we are delighted for him and the whole team. It was a complete performance.”

Elsewhere Presteigne were held to an entertaining draw at home to Goodrich IIs.

William Barthalomew (25), Lee Traylor (19) and Mark Oglethorpe (19) led Presteigne to 166-9 with Jack Waldis (4-55) leading the visiting attack.

Jon Pickering led Goodrich’s reply before being caught by james Chilman off Traylor (3-28) for 49.

Mark Ammonds (3-32) and Chris Price (2-47) celebrated regular wickets but Neil Price (10no) and Waldis (5no) held out for the final wicket to close on 163-9.

Meanwhile Builth Wells’ first division clash at Abergavenny was cancelled.
