Matthew Jones starred with an unbeaten 70 with Montgomery restricted to 133-8 by Jim Cadwallader (4-27) and Richard Walker (2-27).

Despite the best efforts of Keith Griffiths (2-23) the hosts sealed victory in the 32nd over of their reply with Walker (42) and Rob Peel (36) guiding Shelton to 154-4 and victory.

Meanwhile Alberbury IIs crashed to a 136 run defeat at St Georges IIs.

Sam Morris (3-47), Preston Fletcher (2-44) and Lawrence Fletcher (2-16) restricted the hosts to a commanding 211-9 with Matthew Conniffe (45), Liam Forrester (47) and Tom Griffiths (48no) starring.

Naz Akhtar (6-20) and Curtis Dixon (2-5) skittled Alberbury for 75 in reply with only Oliver Corbett (10no) posting double figures.

Newtown IIs claimed a draw at home to Lilleshall IIs in division two.

Sam Morris (32), Ricky Davies (31), Matthew Knight (23) and Matt Humphreys (25) all impressed with Richard Smout (31no) guiding Town to 202-6.

Simon Millington (21) and Stuart Rollinson (36) opened brightly in reply before departing to Rowan Meek (3-27) and Jack Williams (2-19).

Humphreys (2-26) dismissed Alan Simmons (19) before Lilleshall dug in for a draw at 131-8.

Elsewhere Welshpool IIs fell 16 runs short in defeat at Ellesmere IIs in division three.

Jordan Harding (3-18) and Rupert Redway (2-27) restricted the hosts to 105-6 to defend with Lee Davis (48no) top scoring.

Harding (25) top scored in reply with Ryan Newton (3-25), Jason Wirdnam (3-11) and Davis (2-7) polishing off Pool for 89.
