WELSHPOOL IIs crashed to a heavy 114 run defeat at home to Much Wenlock IIs in division three of the Henshalls Shropshire League.
Dan Searle top scored with a knock of 44 for the visitors while opener Connor Bennett (26) offered support as Much Wenlock were aided by 56 extras in closing on 159-9.
Adam Gannon (3-4) impressed for Pool with Nathan Baines (2-40) also taking a handful of wickets while Jake Evans (1-17), Matt Sherwood (1-23) and Jordan Harding (1-20) also took wickets.
Only Lee Bocking (13) posted double figures in reply with Bradley Themans (5-2), Searle (2-28) and Jake Handley (2-0) completing Pool’s dismissal for 45 in the 16th over.
The remainder of the programme was badly hit by rain with both senior and second team fixtures for Alberbury and Montgomery victims.
