LLANIDLOES captain James Denham has backed his side to improve on last season ahead of the new division four campaign.

The talented all rounder will be supported by vice captain Geraint Evans this season as the Recreation Ground club seek a revival in fortunes after several years spent in the doldrums.

Llanidloes will look to utilise the batting prowess of Will Denham who led the club’s charts with 331 runs last season.

James Denham also claimed 265 runs with Evans claiming 227 with the Llani skipper backing Sam Phillips-Harvey to step up to the plate this summer.

Despite their inconsistent 2017 the Llanidloes skipper also impressed with the ball with 22 wickets.

Ioan Swallow also claimed 16 with Eogan Jones’ 12 ensuring the Llanidloes bowling attack went into the new season with the foundations to build.

As ever all rounder Adrian Foulkes will also be a threat with bat and ball.

Denham said: “Our aims for the season is a top eight finish with a more consistent performances all around the team.”
