TNS needed just four minutes to mark their title intent as Port Talbot Town were brushed aside at Park Hall.
Jamie Wood steered home the opening goal after Port Talbot had failed to deal with livewire Alfie Carter.

TNS continued to trouble the visitors’ defence at every opportunity and Port Talbot were indebted to goalkeeper Kris Rogers.

The Port Talbot stopper denied Carter before long range efforts from Tommy Holmes and Steven Beck whistled over the woodwork.

However Rogers was unable to hold back the flood and the inevitable second goal came on 38 minutes.

Bustling targetman Mike Wilde held off Matthew Rees before a simple lay-off to Carter saw the ex-Telford star emphatically slot home.

Rogers was on hand to deny Wilde from close range immediately after the re-start as TNS sought to lay down an early season marker.

Port Talbot’s best chance of the afternoon arrived midway through the second-half but Matt Thompson was thwarted by Paul Harrison.

TNS came close to adding a third late on with his speculative lobbed shot tipped over by a busy Rogers.
