RHAYADER Town hit back from a two goal deficit but were unable to prevent a powerful Pwllheli storming through.
The Gwynedd visitors raced ahead with two goals in the opening 10 minutes from Ian Williams.

The first arrived on four minutes with Williams steering home ex-Porthmadog star Barry Evans’ left wing cross.

Williams completed his early brace on 10 minutes when a throughball from Chris Griffiths saw him lob advancing goalkeeper Tom Lloyd-Williams.

Rhayader then hit back with two goals in a minute. Simon Boss-Johnson was at the heart of the comeback and reduced the arrears on 31 minutes with a shot from the edge of the area.

Just a minute later and Boss-Johnson was upended by Ben Chippendale with the resulting penalty dispatched by Dylan McPhee.

The second-half saw Rhayader Town on the backfoot and on 74 minutes Peter Griffiths’ left wing cross found Gareth Jones-Evans on the far post to nod home.

Griffiths finished off the job with six minutes remaining when a tiring home defence conceded a penalty with Griffiths competently slotting.
