Meifod take Village Cup honour
MEIFOD ended the season with silverware to go some way to making up for missing out on the title and promotion.
The long time Honda Division One leaders dropped out of the top two for the first time in 2008 over the weekend to finally end their promotion dream.
However Meifod can at least reflect on Village Cup success after Andrew Weaver’s 31st minute shot bobbled past Alwyn Williams.
Chances were sparse in a fiercely contested final between the arch local rivals.
Banw’s best chances to draw level fell to Geraint Roberts but Meifod goalkeeper Martyn Langford stood firm.
Banw player-manager Chris Roberts introduced himself in the second-half but suffered similar fortune in front of goal.
