LLANFYLLIN Town claimed a battling first point of the season to frustrate early season high flyers Rhayader Town.
Both sides had chances to break the deadlock but Llanfyllin goalkeeper Wyn Evans saved well from Ben Jones while Dylan McPhee volleyed over from 20 yards.

Llanfyllin also had their chances with Tamir Law firing onto the bar in the first-half.

Rhayader were dealt a serious blow when player-manager McPhee sustained a badly gashed leg midway through the second-half.

Rhayader came close to snatching the spoils with a superb shot by Kevin Martin hitting the bar before Llanfyllin cleared.

With seconds remaining Rhys Francis’ speculative 40 yard shot deceived goalkeeper Tom Lloyd-Williams but Rhayader were saved by the woodwork.
