ROB Jones declared himself satisfied as Llanidloes claimed a confidence boosting draw at Wroxeter.
The Llanidloes skipper said: “We fielded well and bowled well but lacked that confidence needed to go on and win the game.

“We can take a lot of positives from this game which we will put it to good use in our remaining 14 games.”

Llanidloes to
ok their time before celebrating their first wickets with the father and son team of Rob and Simon Jones soon finding their mark.

County star Simon Jones accounted for openers Nathan Fern (26), Matt Bevan (24) and Nick Bevan (8).

Meanwhile Rob Jones’ experience yielded a wicket with Callum Cook stumped for four by alert keeper Marc Hughes.

However the Wroxeter middle order revived the innings with Paul Massey (39), Richie Evason (20) and Dave Baxter (13) offering resistance.

All three were to become victims of allrounder Adrian Foulkes (3-31) who made the most of his nine overs by curbing Wroxeter’s middle order revival.

Simon Jones returned to complete his 4-28, from 17 overs, by bowling Tom Astles (2) as Wroxeter closed on 159-8 from 45 overs.

Hopes of challenging the total were soon dismissed when Dave Williams (5), Tom Goodman (9), Simon Jones (4) and Rob Davies (7) departed.

It was left to opener Adrian Foulkes to carry Llanidloes through with a superb half century before being caught for 52 by Cook off Paul Massey (1-15)

Llanidloes opted to guard their remaining wickets with an unbroken sixth wicket stand between Marc Hughes (26no) and Andrew Jones (11no) enough for the visitors to claim a draw.
