LLANIDLOES are still waiting for their first win of the season but an improved bowling display will have heartened the visiting Mid wales outfit.
Llanidloes handed the derby spoils to Alberbury on the opening day thanks mainly to a frustrating bowling performance.
However Llanidloes showed improvement had already been attained with a tight bowling display which limited Lilleshall to 161 hav
ing once threatened to run up an even greater score.
Ryan Jones was elevated to the first team and enjoyed a successful cameo by removing openers Dave Marshall (11) and Simon Bushell (4) before bowling Nick Clewley for a duck to justify his call-up with superb figures of 3-45.
However Llanidloes were being continually punished by top order batsman Paul Bainbridge who amassed three sixes and eight fours in a sparkling 76.
Adrian Foulkes eventually claimed Bainbridge's prize wicket as Llanidloes began to make progress through the home side's batting order.
Only a further 109 runs were conceded by Llanidloes with Foulkes (4-40) leading the bowling attack with support from Simon Jones (1-27), Rob Jones (1-27) and Dan Benbow (1-12) as Lilleshall closed for 161.
However while their bowling display let them down in the opening weekend the problem was making runs in their second game of the season.
Will Askin promptly claimed the wickets of opener Marc Hughes (2) and Andrew Jones, while Foulkes was bowled for 11 by Clewley.
Wickets continued to fall for the the Welsh side with only Rob Smith (18) and tail ender Greg Jones (22) managing to post respectable knocks before Llanidloes slumped for 112 in the 46th over.
Askin (3-28) led the bowling figures with Adam Copsey (2-20) and Steve Bate (2-22) also chipping in for Lilleshall.
