GRAHAM Evans has quit Caersws for a fresh challenge with Principality Welsh Premier rivals Aberystwyth Town.
The 28-year-old Welsh semi-professional agreed terms with the Seasiders this week and departs Caersws following a decade of service.

Evans first burst onto the scene in 1995 and during nine seasons at the club, interrupted by a spell at Aston Villa, scored 132 goals.

Unsuccessful spells at Hereford United and TNS in 2006 were then ended when he made a triumphant return to Caersws.

Despite the club’s struggles last season Evans still amassed 10 goals to attract Aberystwyth Town.

Evans said: “It is with a heavy heart I have made the decision to leave Caersws, who will always be the first result I look out for.

“It was one of the most difficult choices I have made but I am excited at joining a club like Aberystwyth Town. They have plans to bring in some top players and develop Park Avenue so I am looking forward to playing a part in their success over the coming years.

“It is every player’s goal to play in Europe and I hope to get that opportunity in the next few years with Aberystwyth.

“The club have been starved of success over the last 10 years but plans are afoot to boost the crowds and hopefully win some silverware.”

Evans follows midfielder Mark Griffiths out of the Recreation Ground with the latter linking up with local rivals Newtown.
