I’D like to wish everyone a very happy Christmas and hope that Santa was very kind to you all.
I had a fantastic christmas in Hereford waking up with the kids, who like everyone else were very excited. My daughter Lowri woke up at 3.30am mind and we needed to put her back to sleep quickly.
When the kids get spoilt it’s important that they appreciate things and my son Milo thanked us for every present with a kiss, but unfortunately he had more than 40 presents so it took till lunchtime to open them all.
This was my first Christmas without my Dad and a very tough one, but my family have been a great support to me and helped me through this tough time.
The weather has been causing all sorts of problems to the sporting schedule with games being called off all over the place.
When you get Premiership games getting called off then you know it’s bad as most stadiums have undersoil heating and covers etc, but that still doesn’t seem to have helped.
With the football being called off, people have been keeping a close eye on the Ashes, and England have been in fine form.
Surely they will hold onto the Ashes after a fantastic effort in the fourth test. Also I have been keeping a close eye on the World Darts Championship with the excitement slowly building. I cannot see anyone beating Phil Taylor though.
I watched the sports personality of the year 2010 last week and saw AP McCoy win the award. Now this award always causes controversy as what is the award based upon?
Is it the year of sport or is it how many trophies you win? Whoever decides has a hard decision as why didn’t boxer David Haye win it? Lee Westwood, world number one? The list goes on as to who might have won it.
Gary Speed got installed as the Welsh boss and I think it’s a great appointment. People have questioned wether he has the experience, but every new manager starts with none!
Trust me, having played with him many times he will become a top boss, just like Mark Hughes has done. It will be interesting too see who he brings in with him to try and bring some of the glory back into Welsh football.
I hope everyone has a fantastic new year and best wishes to all the readers for 2011.
