TREWERN United could be set for a comeback after a season spent out in the cold with speculation mounting that the club could reform.

Despite reaching the final of last season’s J T Hughes Consolation Cup the club folded last summer, while its under 16s also jumped ship and helped form Waterloo Rovers Youth.

However, the Tigers could be on the trail back after one season spent in the wilderness to reform in time for next season.

The return of Trewern United would also be a welcome boost for the Montgomeryshire League which has seen membership decimated by the establishment of a Mid Wales League second division.

The league has also lost Forden United, Llanwddyn, Newtown Rangers and Defaid Du in recent years.
