ALBERBURY claimed a deserved draw in a high scoring clash at fellow early season strugglers Forton.
The home side made a perfect start with Adam Goulding and Antony Barrett combining for 63 for the first wicket, before the latter was caught for 14 by Ben Davies off Preston Fletcher.
Goulding then took centre stage, hitting 12 fours and four sixes off 85 balls to push his side onto 157-3, when caught for 98 by Neil Savage off the inform Fletcher.
Having deposed Goulding the Alberbury attack kept up the pressure with Denzil Pudota dismissed for 23 off Savage, who completed his 3-59 by removing Richard Anthony (8) and Matthew McInnes (0).
However Alberbury struggled to dislodge Adam Bushnell, with his knock of 61 only ended when caught by Andy Holloway off Fletcher with his side on 249-8.
Fletcher completed his 5-68 by bowling Chris Sayers to leave Forton on 250.
Alberbury needed a good opening to stand any chance in reply, with Mike Crawshaw and Daniel Morris rising to the challenge.
The duo added 134 for the first wicket, with the more adventurous Crawshaw finally caught for 70 by Chris Hicks off Mark Gleeson (1-27), with Morris soon following when caught by Barrett of McInnes for 50.
Alberbury remained well placed to push on, but McInnes completed his 2-44 by catching and bowling Ed Kneale for two, before Sayers removed Elliott Brookes and Steve Jarrett.
Ben Davies (11) was joined by Fletcher in steadying the ship, before Sayers (3-53) struck again to remove Fletcher for 10.
Neil Savage and Ollie Corbett saw out the innings for Bury with an unbeaten eighth wicket stand of 24 to claim a draw.
