TYWYN Bryncrug overcame a battling Waterloo to maintain their title bid at the Recreation Ground.

Rovers were up against it after just five minutes, with Ben Holt latching onto Mark Edmonson’s throughball to open the scoring for the hosts.

However Rovers had plenty of possession without troubling home goalkeeper Andrew McMullan.

Tywyn waited until the 52nd minute to extend their lead with Edmonson’s cross fumbled into his own net by Rovers No1 Gareth Ashley.

With five minutes remaining Ashley parried away a Ben Holt effort, only for substitute Nick Williams to run home the loose ball.
