DAVE Littleford endured another forgettable afternoon, as the Guils slipped up at home top 10 man Lex XI.


Mike Griffiths profited from the hosts’ goalkeeper rushing out of goal to roll home a 20th minute opener.


It gave Guilsfield an uphill struggle and despite dominating the second-half the the villagers could not force a breakthrough.


Lex XI goalkeeper Dan Billington made a string of outstanding saves to deny Rob Cookson, Mike Sawtell and Mike Parry, while Steve Towers headed over on his return.


Gareth Jones also spurned a decent opening, before Lex XI were reduced to 10 men after Shaun Jones lashed out at James Henderson with 18 minutes to go.


The inform Ross Frame was brought down in the area by Billington only for the Lex goalkeeper to avoid punishment.
