Swalec League Division Six Central
Llandrindod Wells 0
Cardiff Saracens 6
COMING back after an eight week enforced lay-off is never easy, as Llandrindod Wells found to their cost at Saracens.
Llandrindod were very rusty, whereas Saracens, who had the benefit of games in the past couple of weeks, made most of the running in the first 60 minutes.
They also looked both sharper and fitter than their hosts.
In a match that had a staggering 15 minutes of stoppage time, both sides had their fair share of walking wounded and the trainers were kept busy throughout.
Both of Llandrindod’s props, Lee James and Geraint Edwards, were injured but remained on the field.
The longer the game went on the better the pair seemed to play, along with the rest of the Llandrindod side.
The last 20 minutes saw them create chances and put Saracens under pressure, including taking some balls against the head in the set pieces.
Really though, neither side looked like scoring a try and the only time the scorers were troubled was when Saracens’ Martin Davey kicked two penalties, one in each half of the game to give the visitors a deserved win.
