CAERSWS had no answer to the Llanelli goal machine, as Mickey Evans watched his side slump to their heaviest defeat since returning to the helm.

The match was over inside the opening 12 minutes, as ex-Wales international Jason Bowen capitalised on the depleted Bluebirds defensive problems to net a quickfire brace in the opening quarter.

Ex-Newtown striker Craig Moses maintained his impressive form by adding to the tally on 21 minutes, and just five minutes later strike partner Rhys Griffiths joined the spree for the hosts.

Despite Caersws steadying the ship after the interval, it was only a matter of time before a rampant Llanelli reaped further reward.

Griffiths completed his brace on the hour, with Moses equalling the feat with 20 minutes remaining.

Caersws’ cause was not aided by a succession of cautions, as referee Darren Adie brandished the cards.

Matthew Prosser celebrated a consolation goal for Caersws with three minutes remaining, but Llanelli had the final say with Griffiths celebrating his hat-trick to go home with the match ball.

Assistant manager Dave Taylor said: “Some might say that Llanelli have very different aims to ourselves this season but no club wants to lose games.

“We were missing a few players but all the lads who came in have played at this level before so that cannot be held up as an excuse.”
