CARNO prevailed 5-3 winners in an eight goal thriller at home to Abermule on Friday night to book their place in the second round of the Banwy Fuels Montgomeryshire Cup.
Abermule twice led with goals from Greg Pryce only for the hosts to hit back and level through Geraint Jones and an Dave Anthony own goal before Mule regained the lead before the break through Will Cooper.
Carno sealed their progress with a dominant second-half with two goals from Richie Evans and a Sion Wild strike.

Forden United maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a 5-2 win at Newcastle earning them a place in the third round today.
Goals from Dillon Gill, Harvey Gill, Jake O'Donnell, Harry O'Donnell and Ryan Edwards ensured glory for the MMP Central Wales League North visitors while the hosts replied with goals from Edward Marston and Morgan Oakley.

The Magpies led through Josh Norwood's 22nd minute opener before Monty hit back to lead with goals from Jack Williams and Robbie Hartshorn with Lewis Birch restoring parity before the break.
Williams completed his double to restore Montgomery's lead with Aled Jones and Tom Halliday goals sealing victory for the Canaries who climb the table to third.
