NEWTOWN Football Club have bid farewell to two modern day legends.

Goalkeeper Dave Jones and forward Nick Rushton will both depart Latham Park this summer after playing their part in a golden era in the club's history.

Jones returned the the club in the summer of 2014 and has since made over 300 appearances while also being key member of the squads which qualified for Europe on three occasions.

Rushton permanently re-signed for the club after a successful loan period from Connah's Quay Nomads in the summer of 2017.

OTHER NEWS:

Rushton has made over 200 appearances for the football club, scoring 70 goals and leaves as the club's second highest scorer since the formation of the Cymru Premier League.

“Nick and Dave have been brilliant for me in my time at the football club and I can’t thank them enough for what they have given to the club in recent years, they’re obviously very good players but more importantly very good characters," said manager Chris Hughes. "I would like to wish them the best of luck with what they do next.”
