BISHOPS Castle fell to a disappointing 15 run defeat at Willey in division one of the Henshalls Shropshire League.
Richard Plant (2-21) celebrated two early wickets while Richard Powell (2-13) took the key wickets of Stuart Sheperd (39) and Liam Hatton (15).
However Lindsey Rudd revived the Willey middle order with a top scoring 75no and formed an unbroken sixth wicket stand with Dave McIntosh (25no) to guide Willey to 201-5 to defend.
Castle lost two cheap wickets in reply before Richard Fifield and Andrew Lewis came together to revive the middle order.
Fifield was eventually bowled for 45 by Kieron Hatton (3-28) while Matthew Pritchard (3-45) celebrated the key wicket of Lewis for a top scoring 72.
Pritchard also bowled Richard Powell (19) before Rudd (2-23) polished off Castle’s tail end resistance for 186.
