RHAYADER Town bid to pick up the pieces after last week’s disappointment when Prestatyn Town visit the Weirglodd on Saturday (2.30pm).
Defeat to Llanfair United last week plunged the Red Kites deeper into the Huws Gray Alliance relegation battle but player-manager Dylan McPhee insisted his side had the qualities to perform a great escape.
“It was a big game that we could not afford to lose,” said McPhee. “I felt we deserved a point but if you make mistakes like we did for their second goal then you are going to be punished in this league.
“It is disappointing but we have another big game on Saturday and we must try and take positives into that.”
Midfielder Dafydd Carruthers and defender Christian Jones are ruled out but the Kites are boosted by the return of the defensive pairing of Craig Garside and Gavin Samuel.
Llanfair United hit the road for Gresford Athletic with confidence soaring after completing back to back wins for the first time this season.
“We want to make it three now,” said manager Rhys Stephens. “It is a tough game as Gresford have already handed us two hidings this season but we make the trip with confidence.
“Last week was a big three points but we will only know how important at the end of the season and we know we must keep picking up points wherever we can.”
