BERRIEW returned to the top of Spar Mid Wales League Two with a 3-1 win at Builth Wells.
Jamie Dockerty fired the hosts into a third minute lead only for the Bulls to reply through Tom Brown on 32 minutes.
Despite being under the cosh for the remainder of the half the Rhiewsiders regained their lead on half-time through Karl Seliaerts.
Berriew sealed victory on the hour with Darryl Jones and Dockerty linking on the left wing for Richard Davies to net.
Manager Dave Jones said: “We are top of the league now and in a strong position having played fewer games than everyone else in the league. Still have a number of tricky games left though so there is a long way to go.
Newbridge maintained their revival with Lyndon Jones’ brace inspiring a 3-2 win at home to Churchstoke.
Owain Lloyd completed the Bridgemen’s tally while Churchstoke remained in contention through Neil Yapp and Dan Hedge.
Meanwhile Dave Anthony proved the difference with both goals as Abermule edged a slender 2-0 win at home to Bont.
