Chris Hughes has backed his side to bounce back from last week's heartbreak at Caernarfon Town tonight (Friday).

The Robins suffered a 3-2 defeat at Bala Town last week to set the stage for a huge clash at the Oval.

The Newtown manager insisted his side had positives to take from their display at Maes Tegid while pointing to the dismissal of captain Craig Williams on the hour as crucial.

Hughes said: "It is not all doom and gloom. We ran a really top side close tonight and deserved a point. We will take positives, despite it being gut wrenching.

"We have bounced back before and will do it again, starting on Friday.

"Things like this happens in football. We have our goals and there will be bumps in the road but we need to bounce back and will."

Williams will now miss two games through suspension which represented a further blow for the Robins.

Hughes had no complaints, saying: "If you’re on a yellow card, you can’t make that tackle. Craig will get two games now which is a blow.

"The red card changed the game.We battled back with a goal and then tried to see it out but it cost us in the end."
