CHRISTOS Nicoloau was the match winner as Llanfair United Reserves battled to a 2-1 win at Maesyrhandir in Honda Division One of the JT Hughes Montgomeryshire League.

Tyler McCarthy levelled for the Newtown hosts after Lennon Brian had given United the lead before Nicoloau came off the bench to loft home the winner.

Meanwhile Steve Tomkins starred with a hat-trick as Guilsfield Reserves returned to the top of the table with a 7-0 hammering of bottom of the table Meifod.

John Lloyd netted twice while Harry Garthwaite and Luke Francis goals completed the drubbing.

Elsewhere Waterloo Rovers Reserves prevailed 6-4 winners at home to Newtown Wanderers in a 10 goal thriller in Mitsubishi Division Two.

Scott Holley and Jake Mantell led Rovers to glory with each netting doubles while Adam Gough and Alex Owen were also on target.

Dave Ash led the Black and Ambers’ scoring with a brace with Neil Lloyd-Jones and Tommy Burlinson also on target.

Honours ended even at the Recreation Field with Llanfechain drawing 2-2 at home to Welshpool Town Reserves.
